In 2008, Subaru moved the Impreza over to the Legacy chassis and updated the EJ257 engine in the STi with the new W25 heads which feature dual AVCS, giving the ECU control over the exhaust cam timing.  This generation has a lot of parts cross compatibility with the older cars but with the new chassis came some new unique fitment on certain things.
